This film shows the complexity in an immigration family. In term of the largest context of this film, I would like to show a real life of the Chinese immigrants and focus on their relationship of their families. According to the data from the Government News in 2013, there are 9.34 million Chinese immigrants in other countries from the 1970s to 2013. The number of Chinese who have studied, worked or visited in western countries is increasing. China has become the fourth immigration country from the 1990s. Sometimes,We make a joke, such as “Anywhere you look, you will find a Chinese person”. However, few people have a deep understanding of their life, even the other Chinese who remain in China. Few people know why Chinese immigrants chose to immigrate; how they live and how they feel in a strange country.
As for the personal background of this film, it shows a real life of a dreaming but lonely woman. Everyone can have a dream, we might not know what dream you have and what troubles you have met. But, this film would like to say dreams are possible, and achievable. There are more and more people feeling lonely in this world. People may choose to live together to escape this loneliness, or live together for money or to immigrate. But this is not my aunt’s dream. This film would like to say everyone is same in the world: We dream to love and to be loved. It is the nature. So, don’t be afraid.
